Progense is project management for agencies and their clients — built on one honest idea: a tool should make the truth easier than the workaround.
We’ve all watched it happen. A launch slips, so the board gets quietly reshaped to look on-time — the rest filed away as “post-launch.” A task says done because someone clicked done. The dashboard stays green right up until the deadline it was hiding. Nobody’s lazy. The software just made the workaround easier than the truth.
Progense came out of watching something more common than anyone admits: a company that cared deeply about its values, and still shipped late — then quietly reshaped the board to make the launch look on-time. And everyone downstream paid for it. Clients waited on launch dates that kept slipping with no honest explanation. Executives couldn’t see their own projects without chasing a PM for every update. Teams did more work than anyone bargained for, because nobody could see what was real until it was already late.
Most tools don’t prevent that — they enable it. A dropdown status invites a guess. A “mark done” button invites optimism. So we built the opposite: status computed from real deadlines, completion that belongs to the client, scope tracked on the record. A tool where honesty is the path of least resistance — where the board tells the truth, so nobody has to manage one.
You'd have to work harder to lie to the board than to be honest with it. That's the whole design.
We're building Progense quietly and deliberately — no launch-day spectacle, no feed full of milestones. Just a product that works, a changelog that moves, and a real person who answers when you write in.
If you've ever stared at a green project board and known, in your gut, that it was lying to you — Progense is built for you.
— The Progense team
Progense is early — a tight effort focused on getting the core right before getting big. We'll be hiring people who care about craft and about the agencies we build for. If that's you, introduce yourself early.
Every decision in Progense exists for one reason: to tell the truth about where your projects actually are. Not to make you look good on a Monday morning slide. To show you — and your clients — reality.
